Janeen Bruce Belcher, 52, passed on Monday, September 6th.
Janeen was born on August 26th, 1969 in Monroe, Wisconsin. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1987. In 2004, she moved to Florida where she met her husband, Johnny Belcher, of 15 years. She worked at The Monroe Times, Citrus County Chronicle, and, later, at Project Lift – exercising her true passion of helping those in need.
Janeen never met a stranger; Wherever she went she sought out opportunities to support people in her community. Her warm smile, sunny disposition, and penchant for inspiring social media posts brought joy to countless people along her journey. Janeen’s Christian faith also played a critical role in her life. She was a living example of unconditional kindness, acceptance, and love. Janeen valued experiences and simple pleasures over material things; laughing with family and friends, playing scrabble on the lanai, watching deer in her backyard, and decorating around the house were among her regular joys in life.
Janeen is survived by her husband, Johnny Belcher; her four children, Sydney (Zachary) Davis, Jasmine Belcher, Jayson Bruce, and Jade Belcher; and her beloved grandchildren, Harrison, Margaux, and Callum Davis. She is also survived by her father, Jim (Nancy) Bruce; her stepfather, Wayne Deyo; and her brother, Steve (Brenda) Bruce and three nephews.
A celebration of life will be held this Saturday, September 11th at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dunnellon, Florida and on Saturday, September 25th at noon at the Twining North Pavilion in Twining Park in Monroe, Wisconsin. The family requests those who attend to wear a mask and follow public health guidance.
