High temperatures today will struggle to reach 3 to 5 below zero. Continued gusty northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph will produce wind chill values around 30 below most of Thursday.
Temperatures tonight will drop to the 20s below zero, with wind chills ranging from 35 below to 45 below.
Air temperatures finally will rise above zero Friday afternoon, with wind chills improving to between 15 and 25 below.
A wind chill advisory may be needed for Friday afternoon after the wind chill warning expires, the NWS said.
