Renaissance fair set for Oct. 12-13 in New Glarus

NEW GLARUS - "A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians" Renaissance fair will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Wilhelm Tell Grounds, W5199 County W. Admission is $5.

The event is an opportunity to learn about life in Renaissance times by visiting with a variety of re-enactors.

Entertainment during the event includes musicians, dancers, comedians, pirates, knights and a variety of other acts. Children can play in the Kid's Kingdom, where they can siege the castle or attack a ship with a 3-foot catapult. The whole family can try their hand at throwing knives and axes, learning a few new dance steps, take in a puppet show, learn what it takes to be a knight, go for a ride on a horse or play a game of Spanish Towers. There will also be Tarot readings and Last Hope LARP will have information on how to get involved in live action role playing.

Renaissance costumes, jewelry, fantasy accessories, books, collectibles, swords, toys and trinkets will be available for purchase.
