MONROE - Minor flooding could be on its way as up to 3 inches of rain is expected to fall this week across southern Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service forecast includes a 90 percent chance of showers today, with up to 2 inches falling by tonight. More rain is expected as showers throughout the rest of the week.
Most rivers in southern Wisconsin are experiencing above normal flows. Surrounding wetlands are saturated and unable to handle the excess water, the NWS reports. With the additional rain coming, rivers will be reaching banfkull stage and some minor flooding is expected.
