MONROE - A rural Monroe couple is facing felony charges of marijuana possession with intent to deliver after police say a search of their home turned up two pot plants and less than an ounce of the drug.

Angela H. Livas, 43, and Adam C. Maltby, 42, also face misdemeanor counts of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The Green County Circuit Court cases were filed Aug. 26 for Livas and Aug. 31 for Maltby.

Livas was jailed Aug. 24, and then released two days later on a $3,000 signature bond with the conditions that she not possess or consume controlled substances. Her preliminary hearing is Friday. Maltby has not yet appeared in court, and a warrant is issued for his arrest.

Livas and Maltby weren't home Aug. 19 when agents with the Stateline Area Narcotics Team searched their home north of Monroe in the N3700 block of Wisconsin 81, according to reports filed with the criminal complaints.

Seized as part of the search were two marijuana plants, smoking devices, about 22 grams of the plant's buds in a Mason jar and four grams of hash oil in a container labeled "Jungle Juice" in their bedroom.

During her arrest, Livas reportedly told the drug agents, "All the weed in our room is for personal use, including the marijuana plants."

Neither Livas or Maltby have a prior criminal record in Wisconsin.
