MONROE - A medical helicopter responded from Madison to the Browntown area Tuesday night for a report of a man with a gunshot wound, but he died at the scene, according to the Green County Sheriff's Office.
The incident was reported at 8:30 p.m. Deputies found the adult male victim deceased at about 9 p.m. on a property in the 1900 block of Dill Road, which is located on the far west edge of the county near the Pecatonica River, Sheriff Mark Rohloff said.
Rohloff described it as an isolated incident and said no one else was involved or in danger. It remains under investigation.
In addition to a Med Flight helicopter from the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Green County EMS and first responders from the Browntown and South Wayne fire departments were on scene, Rohloff said.
