Green County musician featured on Wisconsin Life
Accordion Ruth Marty

MONROE – Ruth Marty of Green County is featured in an all-new episode of Wisconsin Life, “Telescopes and Treble Clef,” airing 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 on WPT. Marty has been playing accordion since she was a child. Now, she finds new joy in playing with her adult granddaughter, even recording a duo CD.

In addition to sharing this story from Green County, Fitzgerald searches the winter sky in New Berlin at the Milwaukee Astronomical Society Observatory. She also shares stories of an artist who practices an ancient form of painting using melted beeswax; an “alpaca whisperer” from Wisconsin Rapids; and a UW-Madison man who gives a unique perspective on First Nations’ history with his effigy mound tours.

This season sees Fitzgerald crossing the state to visit places including the Racine Arts & Business Center and the Brule River State Forest. The rest of the Wisconsin Life team is just as well-traveled; as always, the program finds and introduces unique and inspiring Wisconsinites from all parts of the state and from all walks of life.
