FREEPORT — The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office announces the following activity during the April distracted driving enforcement period. 

●  3 arrests for suspended/revoked driver’s license

●  4 occupant restraint violations

●  44 speeding violations

●  7 distracted driving violations

●  15 other violations

The Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.

Using your phone in anything other than hands-free mode in Illinois in not only dangerous, it is illegal. Break the cycle. Drop it and drive.
