New Glarus Police

New Glarus - At about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 11, Douglas W. Nelson, 62, Baltimore, Maryland, reported his vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup truck had been damaged by a hit and run driver, which he believed occurred in a business parking lot in New Glarus days earlier. The vehicle had moderate front left corner damage, consistent with a vehicle having backed into the truck. An investigation is continuing.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in an ATV accident at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday in the N1800 block of Mt. Hope Road Town of Spring Grove. Deputies report Rodney Arnsmeier, 49, Brodhead, was operating a Honda three-wheel ATV south on Mt. Hope Road. The ATV left the roadway and overturned in a cornfield 0.5 mile south of Giese Road. Arnsmeier was transported by EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Arnsmeier was later transported to UW Hospital by Med-Flight. Monroe EMS and Wisconsin DNR also responded. Wisconsin DNR arrested Arnsmeier for operating an ATV while under the influence.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 5:15 a.m. Saturday in the N1800 block of Dill Road in the Town of Cadiz.

Deputies report Elizabeth J. Werren, 16, Browntown, was southbound on Dill Road when she reported her windshield fogged up, obstructing her view. Werren traveled across the roadway, down a steep embankment, where the vehicle came to rest against small trees. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was removed from the ditch by a tow service. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle hit-and-run accident at about at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the N800 block of Shueyville Road in the Town of Clarno. Deputies report a truck struck a utility pole and traveled through a cornfield, then fled the crash scene. Freeport Police Department located the vehicle and offender, Michael R. Euler, 29, Freeport. Euler's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage. The utility pole also sustained damage and Alliant Energy responded for repairs. Euler was arrested by Freeport Police Department on their charges. The investigation continues.

• Margaret A. Meier, 61, Monroe, reported a deer collided with her vehicle at about midnight Sunday on County N, just north of Buehler Road, Town of Monroe. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in an ATV accident at about 11 p.m. Saturday on Furnace Hill Road in Willow Springs township. Deputies report Bruce Heim, 44, Shullsburg, was operating an ATV, when he lost control, struck a bridge rail and was ejected. Heim was transported to Lafayette Memorial for treatment. Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Rural Medical Ambulance and Darlington Fire Department also responded. The incident remains under investigation. DNR is handling the investigation.
