Three drivers hit calf in road

DARLINGTON - A black calf standing on a road in rural Lafayette County was hit three times in quick succession late Thursday, Sept. 20.

Deputies and Darlington police responded at about 9:30 p.m. to the multiple-vehicle accident on Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Willow Springs, according to a release from the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.

Kyle A. Meylor, 35, Mineral Point, was southbound when he struck the calf standing in the road.

Within less than two minutes, two other drivers hit the calf.

Lavern W. Nihles, 58, and Jennifer L. Davis, 34, both of Darlington, were also southbound when they hit the animal.

Davis reported minor injuries from the accident and was transported to a hospital by private vehicle.

Nihles' 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and Davis' 2007 Dodge Durango were damaged in the crashes and were towed.
