Monroe Police

MONROE - On Tuesday, May 7:

• Anastasia M. Davis, 20, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of battery after police responded at 7:09 p.m. to a caller who reported hearing a disturbance at an apartment in the 1600 block of 11th Street. Davis allegedly slapped her boyfriend. She was jailed pending court.

• Police responded at 7:10 a.m. to an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a residence in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The man was breaking stuff inside the home. No one was cited or arrested.

• Eggings of houses and vehicles in the 1600 block of 22nd Avenue were reported twice, at 8:18 a.m. and 1:08 p.m. Police are investigating a suspect.

• A resident of a trailer park in the 500 block of West 21st Street reported another resident at 9:07 a.m. for leaving trash around a trailer. The offender was warned.

• Police responded at 9:52 a.m. to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife in the 2700 block of 2nd Avenue. The wife had locked herself in the bathroom and called a girlfriend, who then called police. The husband decided to go somewhere else and cool off. No one was cited or arrested.

• An anonymous caller at 9:22 a.m. reported neighbors in the 800 block of 27th Avenue for having junk everywhere around their residence. Police learned the neighbors were doing spring cleaning.

• A caller at 1:01 p.m. in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue reported that the neighbors' let out their large black dog and it runs loose into neighboring yards. The dog owner was warned.

• Two teen girls walking in the area of West 8th Street and 6th Avenue reported at 2:47 p.m. that three teen boys threw empty soda containers at them and called them names. Police did not locate the culprits.

• A key on a key ring was found in a vacant lot in the 1100 block of 23rd Avenue and brought at 4:29 p.m. to the police station. To claim, call dispatch at 608-329-2400.

• A man who had arrived for a child custody exchange at the police station complained at 4:35 p.m. about custody issues he was having with the mother of the children. The matter is civil, not criminal, and police advised him to talk to his attorney.

• A resident in the 200 block of West 23rd Street reported at 9:17 p.m. that a neighbor's dog starts barking as soon as it gets dark and barks all night. Police learned the dog owner is on the night shift. The dog owner promised to close the home's windows from now on so the barking doesn't bother neighbors.

• Police responded at 10:22 p.m. to a dog-barking complaint in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue. No one was home. Police will follow up.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, May 7:

• A deputy spoke with a person at 1 p.m. in reference to a traffic complaint of vehicles traveling at high speeds on Red Rock Road in Darlington Township.

• A deputy assisted at 2:10 p.m. with a custody dispute at a residence on Arthur Street in Darlington.

• A deputy checked the welfare of a child at a residence on West Main Street at 5:30 p.m. in Benton.
