Monroe Police

MONROE - Police were dispatched at 7:42 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room, where a patient reported being injured during a domestic incident that allegedly took place earlier that morning at a residence in the 1400 block of 10th St. The 28-year-old female victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and identified her boyfriend as the alleged suspect. Christopher L. Sibley, 27, Monroe was later arrested at a residence in the 2400 block of 4th Street and has been initially charged with disorderly conduct, battery, criminal damage to property, strangulation and intimidation of a witness, all under the domestic abuse law. Sibley was confined in the Green County Jail pending court.

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Jan. 23:

• A deputy assisted a transient at 4:34 a.m. by providing a ride from a business in Belmont to the Iowa County Line on U.S. 151 where an Iowa County Sheriff's deputy met and provided further transportation due to the extremely cold temperatures.

• A deputy investigated an animal neglect complaint at 9:00 a.m. on Trotter Road, Wiota Township.

• A deputy assisted a motorist at 10:04 a.m. with unlocking a vehicle at a location on Noble Street in Gratiot.

• A deputy responded to a residence at 2:13 p.m. on East 1st Street in Benton for a complaint of an unruly 16-year-old male.

• A deputy responded to a complaint of animal neglect at 4:10 p.m. at a location on County O in Shullsburg Township.

• A deputy investigated a theft complaint at 4:43 p.m. at a residence on Ingwell Road in Blanchard Township

• A deputy assisted a motorist at 5:34 p.m. with unlocking a vehicle at a location on Main Street in Benton.
