Morris V. Grenzow, age 95, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at Harbor House, Monroe. He was born Sept. 8, 1916 in Juda. Morris married Laura Balbach on Sept. 11, 1948. She preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 1994. He married his life-long friend, Esther (Rodenbough) Andereck, on Jan. 6, 1996.

Morris took pride in his career as a custom homebuilder. During his retirement years, he continued to design and build woodworking projects. He enjoyed sharing his skills, through working with his friends on various Juda Community projects. His favorite activities included traveling (on his motorcycle in his younger years), fishing, hunting, attending auctions and tool collecting, and spending time at his lake cottage. Morris was a World War II Veteran, serving with the Navy Construction Battalion in the Pacific. He was a lifelong member of Monroe V.F.W. Post #2312 and will be remembered by his family and friends for his storytelling and love of a joke.

Morris is survived by his wife, Esther of Monroe; a son, Frank of New Glarus; a daughter, Patricia (Jim) Burke of Janesville; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Burke of Janesville, Laura (Ron) Williams of Janesville, Crystal (Josh) Nunn of San Diego, CA; 6 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Lauron, Mae and Zoe Williams, Leo and Elizabeth Burke; a niece, Jean (Rod) Radke, St. Charles, MO; two step-daughters, Audrey Nickerson of Fairfield, CT, and Elaine Wuethrich of Monroe; 4 step-grandchildren, Brian Nickerson, Patra (Chris) Dwyer, Dietra Nickerson, and Cale (Megan) Wuethrich; and 5 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura; his parents, Harrison and Zoe Grenzow; and a sister, Goldine (Robert) Rutsch.

Military graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 4:00 p.m., at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
