Louise A. Casey, age 93, of Janesville, formerly of Monroe, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her home. She was born on August 10, 1923 to Lawrence and Dorothea (Meyer) Read in Elizabeth, IL.
Louise Read and Thomas L. Casey were united in marriage on June 20, 1946 in Monroe. She was a nurse at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe; she later worked at Pre Pak. She was a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Louise enjoyed sewing, crafts, and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl and Sharon Casey both of Goodyear, AZ; Cathy Casey of Janesville, and Thomas W. (Carol) Casey of Beaver Dam; granddaughters, Christy (Steve) Mindt and Julie (Corey) Phelps; great-grandsons, Casey Mindt and Owen Phelps.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Maurice Read; and three sisters, Merna Grebner, Virginia Fischer, and Charlotte Ackerson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHKE FUNERAL HOME in Monroe, with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, January 9th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
