STOUGHTON - Karla A. Snively, age 90, passed away on January 15, 2016 at the Stoughton Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1925 to George and Marie (Karlen) Geiger in Chicago, Illinois.

Karla Graduated from North Park Academy in Chicago in 1943. She also graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a BS degree in Child and Family Studies in 1948 and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. After school she went on to teach kindergarten in Kenosha until her marriage to Harold on December 26, 1949 at the University Presbyterian Church - Pres House - in Madison.

She was involved with the Badger Council of Girl Scouts for over 15 years part of the time as a Junior leader and also on the board of directors. Spent 30 years with the Green County Chapter of the University of Wisconsin Alumni as treasurer. Was on the National Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Alumni Association for 6 years, of which she was Secretary from 1983 to 1985. She was a member of the Monroe Trails and Treasures Questers club at the time they replaced the steeple on the Green County courthouse, acting as treasurer for that group.

Karla is survived by 3 children, Kristine (Robert) Newlin, Leann (Richard) Lindemann, William (Jane) Snively; grandchildren, Katie (Dan) Fischer, Mike (Mandy Kemm) Lindemann, and Kevin and Kathleen Newlin; great grandchildren, Eloise Ann and Adeline Marie Fischer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 2001, mother and father, and brother Bob, who was killed in Korea.

In honor of Karla's wishes there will be no funeral services. If desired, memorials may be made to the Green County Humane Society or the Green County Historical Society.
