Harry Lovejoy, 81, of Monroe, formerly of Elgin, passed away on August 15, 2011. He was born on May 31, 1930 in Elgin, IL the son of Harry and Eleanor (Prigge) Lovejoy. Harry was a Veteran, and served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He began his career at Elgin Sheet Metal and retired from Sherman Plumbing and Heating in Crystal Lake, IL.

He was a former member of Grace Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #57.

Survivors include his 3 children: Lance Lovejoy of Pompano Beach, FL; Lori (David) Rhodes of Freeport, IL and Larry Lovejoy of Sycamore, IL.

6 children: Brian, Rebecca, David, Brandon, Alison and Emilee; and 4 great grandchildren.

2 brothers: William Lovejoy of South Elgin and Glenn (Rita) Lovejoy of Huntley, IL, along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters in law, Karen and Phyllis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., (corner of Third and Oregon), West Dundee, IL. Burial with honors will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
