The angels came to escort Fritz to his heavenly home August 18, 2014 from his earthly home in rural Blanchardville, WI. He was born August 29, 1935 in Chicago, IL, the son of Swiss immigrants Fritz and Bertha (Mathys) Baumann. Fritz married his high school classmate Anne (Schwicht) on May 14, 1955. They enjoyed many years traveling and camping with their young sons. They moved to Wisconsin in 1969 to enjoy the rural life and rolling hills of Green County.
Fritz's lifelong dream to open his own butcher shop came true in 1991 when he opened Baumann Bros Meats. He retired in 2001 to become a snowbird in Florida to be near his siblings. Fritz was a former AWANA leader with Antioch Evangelical Free Church for many years a member of the Moose Lodge and Argyle Rod and Gun Club. He attended Cornerstone Church in rural Argyle and Faith Evangelical Free Church in Spring Hill, FL.
Fritz is survived by his wife: Anne, four sons: Kevin (Heidi) of West Bend, WI, Kirk (Carolyn) of Port Tobacco, MD, Kreigh of Argyle, and Kristopher (Valarie) of Argyle; grandchildren: Andy (Michelle), Kristin (Will) Natividad, Benjamin (Katrina), Kristopher, Shawn, Brad, Kody, Kaleb, and Kaitlin (Grandpa's lil dollie); a sister: Gert; a sister-in-law: Rose; nieces Trudy, Patsy, and Linda; nephews: Ron, Rich, Glen, and Larry; a special cousin: Heinz of Switzerland; many other relatives, and special, special friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by a sister: Ruth; and a brother: Max.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gnarly Oak Restaurant, 15750 Old Q Road, Blanchardville/rural Argyle.
