DARLINGTON - On Wednesday Jan. 22

• Shullsburg Ambulance was alerted to a call at 12:43 p.m. at a residence on East Water Street in Shullsburg.

• Shullsburg ambulance was alerted to a call at 1:30 p.m. at a residence on East Water Street in Shullsburg.

• Wiota First Response and Rural Medical Ambulance were alerted to a call at a residence at 9:35 p.m. on County M in Wiota Township.

JANESVILLE - Green County EMS assisted fire departments from Orfordville, Evansville, Whitewater, Footville, Fitchburg, Brodhead, Shirland, Brooklyn, Janesville, Edgerton and Beloit Township at 8:28 p.m. in responding to a residential fire at 12626 West Wis. 81 in Newark Township, Wednesday, Jan. 22. All occupants safely exited the house, however three dogs expired in the fire. Initial investigation at the scene suggests that the fire started in the garage due to a space heater, and there is no indication of anything suspicious in nature. The fire remains under investigation at this time. In addition to the house, two vehicles parked in the garage were lost. Traffic was rerouted on Wis. 81 for more than four hours. The total damage incurred could exceed $100,000.
