Charles N. "Charlie" Larson age 62 of Gratiot, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at home. He was born June 12, 1953 in Darlington the son of Martin "Dutch" Larson and Lois (Longhorn) Ubersox. Charlie graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to Nikki K. Stauffer on January 16, 1972 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in South Wayne, WI. Charlie grew up, lived, and farmed in Gratiot on the Larson family farm his entire life.
Charlie is survived by his wife Nikki at home; mother: Lois Ubersox of Gratiot; three children: Josh (Rachael) Larson and Jason (Jessica Donahoe) Larson both of rural Gratiot, and Shelley (Tracy) Gentry of Whitewater, WI; three grandchildren: Ashly Larson, Andrea and Cory Gentry; special nephew: Brandon (Heather) Larson of Darlington and their children Connor, Michael and Charlee Larson; five siblings: Barb (Frank Unterholzner) Bonney of Blanchardville, WI, Jim (Lori Ames) Larson of Madison, WI, Audrey Larson of Milwaukee, WI, Gordon Larson of Gratiot, and Sharon (Bruce) Carlson of Winnebago, IL; step-brothers and sisters: Jim Ubersox and Hal (Sherry) Ubersox both of Shullsburg, WI, Rick Ubersox of rural Darlington, and Gale (Kenneth) Wilson of Lancaster; mother and father-in-law William and Joyce Stauffer of South Wayne; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father in 1970; step-father: "Fritz" Ubersox in 1998; sister: Carol Larson in 2014; and step-sister-in-law: Alice Ubersox in 2011.
Charlie's true passion was his family and working on the family farm. He loved to go on classic car cruises with his friends. Charlie will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his parting phrase, "Keep Smiling."
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ (339 E. Louisa Street, Darlington) with Rev. Larry Balleine officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Immanuel United Church of Christ and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church.
