Blanche A. Markese, age 96, of Browntown, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born February 27, 1913 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Annastasia (Visek) Drab and attended high school in Chicago, IL.

Blanche and Salvatore Markese were married August 25, 1933 in Chicago, IL. She attended Martintown Community Church, was a member of the Norwegian Women's Choir in Chicago and also an Election Judge in Franklin Park, IL.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be missed by all.

Surviving are daughter, Rosann Markese of South Wayne, WI; son, Donald (Kellee White) Markese of Granada Hills, CA; sister, Helen Wrobel of Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and special friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore; daughter, Marie; son, Ralph; sisters, Marie Drab and Rose Lorence/Glass; brother, Frank Drab; granddaughter, Jeannie Miller; and great-granddaughter, Danielle Markese.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Martintown Community Church with Rev. Kevin Cernek officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in South Wayne, WI.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Avenue in Monroe and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Martintown Community Church.
