MONROE - The Monroe Chamber of Commerce Marketing Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 15 at the First National Bank and Trust in Monroe.

Monroe Chamber marketing intern Sam Keizer and Small Business Development Center representative Brock Waterman will be presenting on the importance of marketing and advertising and will be answering questions. The Monroe Chamber Marketing Workshop is free to all Monroe Chamber members.

Keizer will also talk about marketing's close relationship with advertising. Waterman will follow up with key points of the marketing process and how they relate to small businesses. After a break, attendees will be able to ask questions of Keizer and Waterman and a panel of four advertising/marketing companies in Monroe.

According to the press release, marketing serves two purposes: identifying who your customers are and advertising to them. Finding out who your customers are is finding your target market, and this is different for every business. Once the target market is identified, advertising can be related directly to those customers, creating a better relationship with them. Every business owner should have a marketing plan.

After the marketing workshop, Keizer will be available through the Monroe Chamber to provide one-on-one help to Chamber members. Those who attended the workshop will get first pick of the meeting times.

Sign up on the Monroe Chamber website or call 608-325-7648 to reserve a spot.
