Recipe: Beverly’s Famous Fudge

“Our mom Beverly Gebhardt used to make this fudge for all family Christmases and get togethers and for all of the organizations she was involved in, in Monroe.”


Ingredients 

1  2/3  cups sugar

1 six ounce can 

evaporated milk

1/4 cup butter

1/4 tsp. salt

1  1/2 cups mini marshmallows (overflowing)

1  1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


Directions

Combine sugar, milk, butter and salt. Bring to rolling boil. Let boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add marshmallows and chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Add vanilla. Add nuts if desired. As fudge begins to lose gloss, pour into buttered 8x8 pan. Cool and cut into squares.
