Quick Fix Triple Chocolate Cake, by Ruth Hanson, Belleville

“Very popular, if you have a husband or wife that loves chocolate. You make this cake and you’ll get anything you want!!!”


INGREDIENTS

1 package Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix

1 package (3 1/2 oz) instant chocolate pudding

4 eggs

1 1/4 C water

1 C chocolate chips

1/4 C Canola oil

16 oz chocolate chips

FROSTING INGREDIENTS

1 C white sugar

5 T butter only

1/3 C milk

Directions

Mix all ingredients except chocolate chips in a bowl, beat well, oven at 350 degrees.

Grease bottom of a 9x13 pan. Stir until well blended 2 minutes. Bake 30-40 minutes. My oven takes 40 minutes. Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips on top of batter.


Frosting

Boil only 1 minute, no longer, then add 1 cup chocolate chips, stir with a wooden spoon. I always wait until the cake has 10 minutes left to bake then add to hot cake. I have an electric oven and its always done in 40 minutes.

You’ll need 16 oz chocolate chips — 1 cup to put on top of cake batter, and 1 cup for the frosting.
