Tornado Spotter sessions scheduled for March

MONROE - Tornado Spotter training sessions are planned for March.

Two sessions are scheduled. The first class will be at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the Juda Community Center/Fire Station. The second class will be at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 9 at the New Glarus High School in the auditorium. The classes are about two hours and pre-registration is necessary.

The class will teach how to correctly identify the development of a tornado and learn more about severe storms. The free training is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about hazardous weather. The classes are taught by Rusty Kapela, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
