Parks and Rec to hold youth chess tournament Nov. 16 at MHS

MONROE — The Monroe Parks & Recreation Department will hold its first chess tournament Saturday, Nov. 16 at Monroe High School. Check-in time for the tournament is 8 to 8:40 a.m. with the tournament starting at 9 a.m. There will be four to five rounds with awards by 3 p.m. at the latest. Register by Nov. 14 at wisconsinscholasticchess.org. 

There will be team trophies for top two in 5K and K12 divisions. Individual trophies will be given to the top five in each division as well as medals for all participants.
