MONTICELLO - At the senior banquet May 25, the Monticello Foundation awarded five scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to Logan Marty, son of Jim and Linda Marty; Kallista Baebler, daughter of John and Kathy Baebler; Ashley Risley, daughter of Paul Risley and Danielle Risley; Emilie Gietzel, daughter of Dave Gietzel and Barb Duerst; and Dez Hanenberger, son of Rick and Dawn Hanenberger.
Out of a graduating class of 22 students, 13 students applied for and received scholarships totaling $123,700. The figure includes local and college-awarded scholarships.
Recent donations for scholarships have been received from Nancy Aquino and Marilyn Wittenwyler in memory of Rev. Charles Workman; Rosemary Avery in memory of Kevin Schneider; Alice Voegeli and family; Rosanda Richards-Ellsworth; Larry and Doris Schauff; James Hefty; Dr. Karen Ballin; Kay Freitag; David and Ann Porter; Douglas Karlen; David J. Quade; Jean McMannes; Carol Casey Kubly; Keith Hoesly; Michael Klassy; Madelyn Glaeden and family, Roger and Karen Brugger and Richard Smith in memory of Norman Glaeden; Elmer Lemon and Roger and Karen Brugger in memory of Gene Flesher; and Thomas Hefty in memory of Lillian E.
