MONROE - Nationally-known motivational speaker Robert Ian is the keynote speaker at the Green County Development Corporation 2008 annual meeting and recognition dinner on Thursday, March 5, at the Monroe Country Club, 2205 21st Street, Monroe.
"Preparing for the Future is the focus of our annual meeting this year" stated Anna Schramke, GCDC Executive Director. "All indications point to the fact that the next 12-18 months are going to be challenging for businesses, government, and individuals. Yet, GCDC remains confident that once we get through this period, we will see a renewed period of growth. Our future success will depend on our ability to prepare for the inevitable change that will occur, and Robert Ian's message is a perfect way to begin our preparation."
Ian, a New Glarus resident, is the author of "How to Identify, Master and Conquer Change," and his business and economic analysis is heard each week on GoldSeek Radio. He has served as the keynote speaker many national corporate and entertainment events and has performed at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. During his interactive presentation, Ian will reveal a step-by-step system to identify, master and conquer both personal and work-related change. Attendees will learn how to create order out of chaos and uncover the hidden opportunities of rapid change. According to Ian, "Change is neither good nor bad. It simply is. You make it one or the other by your choices and actions."
In addition, the GCDC will recognize key people and businesses that have added to the strength of the county and its economic growth during the 2008 calendar year. This year's nominations are being reviewed currently.
GCDC will also reveal 2009 plans to drive the local economy and keep Green County on the cutting edge. "We are excited about the new direction that GCDC will be taking in 2009 and are excited to share this news with the community," Schramke, said. "I encourage all community and business leaders to attend our Annual Meeting & Recognition Dinner."
The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m., with the program to begin immediately following dinner. Seating is limited and reservations are required. The cost of the event is $30 per person, with tables of eight available. Contact the GCDC office at 328-9452 or by e-mail at gcdc@tds.net. Payment can be sent to Green County Development Corp., N3150 Wisconsin 81, Monroe, WI 53566.
