Bake sale to raise funds for residents' gifts

They are also raising funds to purchase any items needed for each center, including DVDs, games and reading materials.
BRODHEAD - Erin Kloepping and Sarah Strathman will be visiting six local nursing homes/retirement complexes in Brodhead, Orfordville and Footville on Dec. 24.

Kloepping and Strathman have visited nursing homes/retirement complexes for the past six years.

This year, they are raising funds through a bake sale from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Bank of Brodhead. The funds from the bake sale will be used to buy gifts for the residents and any items needed for each center including DVDs, games and reading materials. They plan to visit Woods Crossing, Collinwood in Brodhead and Orfordville, Caring Hands, Brodview Manor and St. Elizabeth's Manor in Footville.

Those who are interested can bake items such as cookies, muffins, cakes and pie to be sold at the bake sale. These baked goods can be dropped off today, Nov. 7 and Friday, Nov. 8 to the Strathmans or Kloeppings. Items can also be dropped off to the Bank of Brodhead from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday.
