MONROE — For the 32nd consecutive year, the Monroe Arts Center (MAC) sponsored the Photography Contest and Exhibit. Photographs entered in this contest will be on display at MAC from Sept. 10 through Nov. 5. The Monroe Arts Center is located at 1315 11th Street.
The contest was open to all non-professional photographers. The photographs must have been taken after Sept. 1, 2020, and be the first time entered in this contest. Each photographer was allowed to enter as many photographs as they wished. There will be cash and ribbon awards for Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd, Place, 4th, and 5th Place.
The judge for this year’s Photography Contest is Bruce Fritz, noted Madison photographer and News Photography Pulitzer Prize nominee. Fritz’ own work is currently on exhibit in the Wellington and Muranyi Galleries at the Monroe Arts Center.
This exhibit has been supported by MAC Corporate Underwriter Colony Brands, Inc. and Season Media Underwriter Big Radio, with additional support from Mike & Shelley Muranyi, Lee & Chris Knuteson, Paul & Sue Barrett, David & Julie Buchanan, Kevin & Chris Callahan, and Don Amphlett & Jan Johnson.
