Sharlene Swedlund, 2022 Green County Fairest of the Fair

Hello everyone, my name is Sharlene Swedlund and I am the 2022 Green County Fairest of the Fair from Juda, Wi. 

Since the summer came to an end I have continued to keep very busy, some of you may have seen me out and about during Cheese Days, others have probably seen me at the World Dairy Expo in October, and most recently the Brodhead Fire and Ice Festival. 

Through all of my work as the Green County Fairest of the Fair I have been able to keep up with social media posts-for those who don’t know the Green County Fairest of the Fair has a Facebook page, so make sure to give us a follow! 

I have remained employed full time at Kuhn North America working as a Technical Publications Specialist, I am attending classes for a Manufacturing Engineering degree program, along with showing sheep at the North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville, KY. 

Some would think the schedule that I have is too busy, but truthfully I enjoy everything that I am a part of and the excitement that comes with each event/organization. A huge thank you goes out to the community for the endless support, everyone has played a part in the success for the Green County Fairest of the Fair program this year. 

Another exciting event that I will be partaking/attending will be the Wisconsin Fairs Association Convention in early January, while attending the convention I will have the opportunity to compete for the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs title for the 2023 year. 

As exciting and adrenaline rushing as that sounds, I have taken the time to prepare for this competition so it will be fun and rewarding with everything that I will have the chance to learn. 

I would also like to take the time to invite those of you who are at least 18 years of age to apply for the 2023 Green County Fairest of the Fair. The application is open and available on the Green County Fairs website and will remain open until March 1st.
