Thank you to counties for their help

Like most people, I do my share of complaining about government. Now it is time I thank and credit them for a job well done for me. I believe a job they did not have to do.

On Tuesday Dec. 8, I had a routine medical procedure performed. We all know of the storm on Wednesday. I am retired so had no need to rush and get the driveway cleared. We called a few companies and got on their list to be plowed.

Around 2 a.m. on Thursday, I found that I was bleeding internally and by 5 a.m. I was quite worried about it but we could not get out of our driveway to go to the E. R. My wife suggested I call 911 and tell them the problem.

Since we live in Rock County, the call went to them. The best option was to get enough snow out of the way for us to get out. The road we live on is under the care of Green County.

The Rock County 911 center placed me on hold and called Green County to see if a plow could open our driveway. After a short time, I was told a plow was on the way. Within 20 minutes, not one but two plows were here. One plow came in and moved the snow so we could get out and the other driver took the shovel from my wife and cleared the area in front of the garage door.

I wish to thank the people of both counties for what they did for me. In less than a half hour of placing the call to 911, my wife had me on the way to the E. R. I am grateful they were there for me.

Thank you all and Merry Christmas. You have made mine great.
