MTG's new home is abuzz

Most of those in the area would not have the good fortune to know how much the Monroe Theatre Guild has been providing to many area folks this past spring. Nearly every weekend at the MTG's new home, the old JC Penney or STAGE Building, classes or activities have been held for those from the ages 6 to 80. The state line theatrical interest has drawn folks from as far as Madison, Waunakee and Freeport to Monroe for the all-day events and activities.

With multiple floors, it is common to have an activity on one floor, rehearsal of the upcoming play or comedy show on another floor and possibly stage scene construction and assembly in the woodworking shop in the basement. There are days the entire building is just a buzz with area residents, from children to prominent business leaders, involved in theatre in one way or another.

How fortunate we are to not only have the Monroe Arts Center to provide us with visual art and professional entertainment, but now we have another venue where local talent can learn, enjoy and participate in the performing arts at the Monroe Theatre Guild. Keep up the good work Monroe!
