To the Editor:

It is no mystery why I am supporting Donna Douglas to be the next mayor of Monroe. She is a highly qualified candidate given her many years of recognized volunteer achievements serving on many boards and committees in Green County and Monroe. Her distinguished leadership role in many of these organizations speaks for itself. Her record as a respected Alder has been both exemplary and inspiring. Donna has a unique gift of bringing people together in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration to get things done. She is respectful of everyone’s opinion and invites rigorous debate to achieve the best outcome for the many issues and opportunities that the city will be facing in the future. What I admire most about Donna is her generosity, intelligence and dedication to the city. She often says that transparency in government is one of the cornerstones of good government. I couldn’t agree more. Another strength Donna has is her undying love of tourism. Her leadership at the National Historic Cheesemaking Center is well recognized statewide, and there could be no better candidate to represent the great city of Monroe promoting our Swiss culture and award-winning cheeses. With proud enthusiasm, I support Donna Douglas for mayor and please join me on Tuesday, April 5th, and vote.
