Carlson: Website says Evers, Barnes release rapists and murderers
Letter To The Editor

From Bob Carlson

Monroe

To the Editor:

According to a recent letter to the editor, Tony Evers and the Democrats support women, but the GOP supports rapists. I do not know how the GOP’s fight to protect innocent, unborn children somehow “supports rapists.” But I do know that the letter left out some facts on how Gov. Tony Evers and Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes feel about rapists and other violent criminals.

Tony Evers’ Parole Commission has released at least 883 convicted criminals into Wisconsin communities.  Tony Evers promised voters  in 2018 — “We will not release violent criminals.” However,  here are the numbers for some of the violent criminals released by the Evers/Barnes Administration in 2019-2021: 26 released for 1st-Degree Sexual Assault of a child; 5 for 2nd-Degree Sexual Assault of a child; 13 for Repeated Sexual Assault of the same child; 24 for 1st-Degree Sexual Assault; 15 for 2nd-Degree Sexual Assault; 171 for 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide; 62 for 1st Reckless Homicide; 18 for felony murder; 3 for 2nd-Degree Reckless Homicide; 2 for Homicide by Intoxicated Use of Vehicle;  and 18 for 2nd-Degree Intentional Homicide.* If you would like more information, including stories detailing the facts about these released criminals, visit the news site wisconsinrightnow.com.

These criminals had not reached their mandatory release dates; in fact, many were serving life sentences. And these do not include the paroles from 2022. Wisconsin Right Now has requested information on paroles from 2022, but the Evers/Barnes Administration, in violation of Wisconsin law, has refused to respond.

I will not be divisive and say that Democrats “support rapists” and other criminals; I will let you make your own conclusions. However, I think the choice is clear: vote for Tim Michels for Governor,  Ron Johnson for Senate, and Eric Toney for Attorney General on Nov. 8.
