Co-chairs of the Monroe Arts Center Silent Auction

To the editor:

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the annual Monroe Arts Center Holiday Silent Auction such a success again this year. We are so grateful to the donors of the more than 250 featured items, as well as to the generous bidders. We were especially pleased to include items from Monroe High School artists for the first time this year, in addition to items, services, and novel experiences from so many area businesses and individuals.

Special thanks to our wonderful auction committee: Wendy Baumann, Eunice Brennan, Mary Deininger, Kathy Dreikosen, Jean Geiger, Audrey Hein, Karen Hogan, Vicki Ingwell, Chris Knuteson, Lynn Lokken, Gary Neuenschwander, Jane Hager Paradowski, Marilyn Sandin-Ross, Jane Swiggum, Jesse Wellington and Kris Winkler.

The MAC auction is a community tradition before Christmas each year. It is not only an important fundraiser for the arts center, but it helps bring people into the center who might not have already been familiar with it. The final night of the auction this year was a delight ... a bustling crowd of people making their final auction bids and then enjoying the inspiring music of the Mt. Zion Gospel Choir in the beautiful MAC concert hall.

Thank you, too, to the Monroe Arts Center staff. Their vision and leadership have enriched the life of our community. We are indeed fortunate to have this outstanding arts center in Monroe.
