Question of the Day: What do you need to know about the referendum?

Green County voters will be asked three weeks from tomorrow to approve paying more money in property taxes so the county government can fill the gap in funding for Pleasant View Nursing Home.

In Saturdays edition, reporter Brian Gray wrote a story about phone calls being made to county residents to ask for support for the referendum. A local political action committee that includes Pleasant View workers is behind the effort.

Thor Backus, organizer for the employees credit union, told the Times he wished there was more time to educate the public about the referendum. So I thought we could try to help a little bit.

Todays question is: What questions would you like to have answered before you vote Oct. 6 on the Pleasant View funding referendum? Make a reader comment with your questions or thoughts.

Hopefully, some county officials will read this blog and could answer some questions directly. Or, we can ask some of the better questions directly to county officials, and will get the answers out to our readers whether on this blog or in a news story, or both.
