MJG: Week 11

Will someone please do something about Paula Abdul? First she was be-bopping around to Brooke's "I'm a Believer" (which was pretty flat and boring - I was kinda hoping David Cook would do that song and totally knock it on its rear end) and then remarking on Jason Castro's second song after our dreadlocked friend had only sung one ... What in the world is that woman on?

But speaking of Jason - remember last week when I compared him to a summer romance that was winding down? Well, it's done. I'm ready to go back to school and leave him far behind. He's just plain dull these days - could he at least TRY to put a little emotion, a little energy, a little SOMETHING into his songs? Last night's performances were like someone rehearsing - he was singing the words and hitting the notes, but holding back on any kind of soul. What's he waiting for???

Brooke did OK with "I Am, I Said" after the debacle of "Believer." Syesha did well - again, she's not my favorite, but she was certainly a lot better than Jason.

Little David did well, but I was once again most impressed with David Cook. But I think they should do Neil Diamond again and make David Cook perform "Believer" and "I Am, I Said" - wouldn't that be cool???

Time for Jason to go. If he gets through another round, there won't be a second season of "Idol" for me.
