BELLEVILLE - Senior Amber Sies and junior Kalin O'Rourke each scored two goals to power the Sugar River girls soccer team to a 10-0 win over Lakeside Lutheran on Tuesday.
The Raiders scored six goals in the second half, and the game was called by the mercy rule in the 79th minute.
Sugar River junior Aimee Sies scored to put the Raiders on the board in the 17th minute. One minute later, sophomore Sydney Gentilli scored. O'Rourke scored her first goal on an assist from junior Mikayla Cann to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead at 24 minutes. Amber Sies tacked on a goal to give the Raiders a 4-0 lead at the half.
Sophomore Julia McNamer scored a goal in the 51st minute on an assist by O'Rourke. Three minutes later, Amber Sies scored her second goal to extend the Raiders' lead to 6-0. Cann scored a goal on a penalty kick. O'Rourke scored her second goal in the 74th minute off an assist by Cann. Seniors Clarice Loeffelholz and Esther Noriega also added second-half goals.
