MONONA - The Monroe boys tennis team won the No. 1 flight in both singles and doubles in dropping a 5-2 decision to Monona Grove in Badger South Conference play Friday.
The Cheesemakers' Taylor Soddy defeated Jimmy Platz 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Monroe's Cristian Noriega and Kevin Kohlstedt posted a 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 triumph against Cam Meyferth and Grant Smith.
Monroe is scheduled to host a double invitational today, with action beginning at 9 a.m.
