DARLINGTON - Darlington senior Ronnie Rush tossed a three-hit shutout in leading the Redbirds to a 12-0 five-inning win over Riverdale Thursday.
"He did a nice job of keeping the ball down," Darlington coach Andy Sawall said. "He was on his game tonight."
Rush pitched a complete game and he had three strikeouts.
The Redbirds scored three runs in both the second and third innings to jump out to an 8-0 lead. Darlington (11-8, 7-6 SWAL) tacked on four more runs in the fourth.
Darlington senior Tanner Havens went 2-for-2 at the plate. Seniors Matt Kiester and Jason Boll each were 2-for-3.
Darlington closes out the regular season with a road game at Fennimore today.
Albany 9, Black Hawk 3
SOUTH WAYNE - The Comets rallied to beat Black Hawk in a Six Rivers Conference game Thursday.
Albany (4-7, 3-5 Six Rivers East) scored three runs in both the sixth and seventh for a comeback 9-3 win.
Albany senior Bryce Hulbert threw a complete game and gave up three earned runs on seven hits. He struck out nine and walked two.
Black Hawk (2-13, 1-9) committed nine errors. Black Hawk's Michael Walker went the distance and gave up one earned run on five hits, struck out nine and walked two.
Walker went 2-for-3 and had a home run. Connor Moore went 2-for-3 and Jake Meier was 2-for-4 for the Warriors.
Mineral Point 12, Argyle 2
MINERAL POINT - The No. 1 ranked Pointers according to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Division 3 poll, were too much for Argyle handing the Orioles a non-conference loss Thursday.
With the win, Mineral Point improves to 19-2 and Argyle drops to 7-7, 4-5.
Waterloo 10, New Glarus 2
NEW GLARUS - The Waterloo Pirates jumped out to an early 9-0 lead on their way to a 10-2 win over the New Glarus Glarner Knights Thursday.
Senior Ryan Bright went 2-for-2 with a run scored and junior Kirbe French drove in a run in the third inning for the Glarner Knights.
New Glarus fell to 6-8 in the Capitol South and 7-11 overall. The Knights will host Orfordville Parkview Monday.
Parkview 3, Brodhead-Juda 2
ORFORDVILLE - The Bordhead-Juda Cardinals suffered their fourth one-run loss of the season as they fell to the Orfordville Parkview Vikings Thursday, 3-2, in a Rock Valley South conference game.
The Cardinals tied the game, 2-2, in the fourth inning only to see the Vikings get the go-ahead run in the fifth inning.
Senior Jacob Covert went 2-for-4 with a solo home run for Brodhead-Juda. Senior Billy Sangermano allowed five hits and four walks while striking out six batters. Brodhead-Juda (1-14, 0-13) will host Big Foot in a doubleheader Saturday.
