HOLLANDALE - After Monroe's Home Talent Brewers built a mountain of momentum, it all came avalanching down in Sunday's 5-4, 13-inning loss to the Rockies.
Monroe took a 4-2 lead in the top of the 13th on a two-run double by lefty Justin Hahn before Hollandale's Kurt Ritschard capped a three-run answer in the bottom with a two-run single.
Ritschard also worked the final seven innings to earn the win in the Western Section contest. Other Western results:

Wade Hanna drove in Mark Hamilton, the game-winning run for the visiting Tourists.
Justin Crotty tied things at 3-3 for Argyle with a two-out, RBI-single tied the score in the eighth. Vlasak, fresh off his varsity campaign for Pecatonica, pitched all 10 innings to get the win.
Wiota 17, Richland Center 1
Jay Haldiman and Tommy Meier drove in three runs apiece as the Indians erupted to rout Richland Center on Sunday.
Wiota wasted little time, scoring eight runs in the first on five hits, two walks, a hit batter and a pair of errors.
Verona 15, Blanchardville 1
The Bullets could only muscle out four hits, as Monroe alum Matt Niffenegger and Mitch Staley went the distance for Verona.
John Volker and Matt Peetz had two-run singles in a 12-run fifth as visiting Verona won in seven innings.
