MADISON — The University of Wisconsin Madison women’s basketball team won its seventh straight home opener with a 20-point first quarter. The Badgers defeated the UW-Milwaukee Panthers 62-51.

Black Hawk graduate Natalie Leuzinger contributed to the explosive first frame as she and teammate D’Yanis Jimenez sunk back-to-back 3-pointers.

Leuzinger finished with five points, three rebounds and one assist. Sophomore Serah Williams paced the Badgers with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Madison has two more home games — Thursday, Nov. 9 against Western Illinois and Tuesday, Nov. 14 against South Dakota State — before its first road game on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Kansas State.
