On Saturday, Nov. 16 the Avalanche Pee Wee A team took on Reedsburg A at SLICE arena winning 7-4. Tessa Janecke started the scoring with a short-handed goal assisted by Payton Stauffacher midway through the first period. Shortly after, Joe Wyss had two perfect passes to Travis Edmunds that he converted into Monroe's next two goals. The Avalanche led 3- 0 after the first period.
Reedsburg came out strong in the second period scoring the next two goals. Edmunds answered late in the period with an assist from Charlie Harris to make the score 4-2. The Avalanche scored three more goals in the third period while allowing two. Joe Wyss scored one of the third-period goals with an assist by Anika Einbeck; Edmunds scored the other two. The Avalanche controlled the game, outshooting Reedsburg 40-24. Goalie Jayden Johnson had 24 saves for Monroe.
Squirt A
The Squirt A Avalanche won three games over the weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Avalanche Squirt A took on Waunakee Wildcats B and dominated the entire game defeating the Wildcats 7-3. Tessa Janecke earned a hat trick (three goals in one game) and had four total goals in the game. Alyssa Knauf earned a playmaker (three assists in one game). Blaze Janecke, Lilah Bauer and Alvin Buholzer each lit the lamp for the Avalanche. Alvin Buholzer also had an assist. Goalie Aiden Runkle recorded 13 saves.
On Sunday, Nov. 17 the Squirt A team defeated Sauk Prairie 4-3. Tessa Janecke earned a hat trick while Blaze Janecke added one goal. Earning assists were Blaze Janecke and Tessa Janecke. Excellent defensive play by the defense kept the puck out of the net. Goalie Aiden Runkle recorded 14 saves.
That afternoon the Squirt A team traveled to Beloit, almost shutting them out 7-1. Tessa Janecke and Hayden Roth each earned a hat trick. Lilah Bauer also lit the lamp for one. Earning assists were Alvin Buholzer (2), Jack Leverton, Lilah Bauer and Hayden Roth. The Avalanche had 59 shots on Beloit's goal. The defensive line (Alyssa Knauf, Rob Schroeder, Alvin Buholzer and Tessa Janecke) did a stellar job of keeping the opponents away from the net.
