WISCONSIN DELLS - The Trappers Turn Golf Club wasn't kind to the Monroe golf team at the WIAA Division 2 Wisconsin Dells sectional Tuesday.

The Cheesemakers shot a 364 as a team and took 11th out of 12 teams. Madison Edgewood clipped Edgerton 320-321 to win the team sectional title. Both Edgewood and Edgerton will advance to state.

Monroe senior Kyle Bruce shot an 86 and finished 19th. He was four shots away from qualifying for state.

"Monroe had a tough day at sectionals," Monroe coach Brian Jensen said. "Kyle had a tough front nine with a 47. He got in some trouble and struggled on the greens. I am proud of what he has accomplished this season and in his career."

Jason Atkinson carded a 90 in his last round and Eric Timm shot a 92. Matt Miller carded a 92 in his final round to round out the top four for the Cheesemakers.

"I'm looking forward to next year with some young and experienced players," Jensen said.
