PRAIRIE DU SAC - Sauk Prairie's Jeremy Hish had a breakaway and fired a shot at the far post that found the back of the net and proved to be the deciding goal as the Eagles beat Monroe 1-0 in a Badger Challenge game on Tuesday.

Hish's goal at 32 minutes, 19 seconds was enough as the Eagles shut out the Cheesemakers (6-5-5).

"He's the fastest player I have seen this year," Monroe coach Tony Stamm said of Hish.

Monroe senior goalkeeper Kyle Williams had 12 saves.

"I thought we played very well," Stamm said. "They fixed a lot of the big things we have been working on with marking up and shooting. I think we are ready for the postseason."

What seed Monroe will have in the regional tournament and who they will play is still up for debate. Stamm said he hopes to know by midnight Thursday who the Cheesemakers will play. The regional tournament is scheduled to start Tuesday, Oct. 11.
