BLANCHARDVILLE — Although Pecatonica-Argyle dropped its dual to River Ridge 42-24 on Senior Night, Jan. 18, the Vikings won three of the four matches that actually played out. The Timberwolves earned 36 points from forfeits compared to the Vikings’ six.
PA jumped out to a 24-6 lead with wins from Aidan Gruenenfelder (113), Lukas Orloff (120), Kevin Rhoades (126) and Jakob Orloff (138).
Gruenenfelder, ranked No. 3 in Division 3, took down Cameron Wehrle five times and let him escape before getting into just the right position for a pin in the first period.
Lukas Orloff, ranked No. 7 in Division 3, did much the same, sprinkling in two near falls. He then pinned Brady Burmeister in the second period.
Rhoades received a forfeit.
Luke Sigg (132) had the first takedown against Owen Bedward before falling in the second period.
Jakob Orloff, ranked No. 4 at 132 pounds, had two takedowns and a nearfall before pinning Cael Koening in the second period.
The remaining points came by forfeit.
