Trio leads Brodhead against BF

WALWORTH — Allie Dahl, Ava Risum and Brynn Reisterer made a big impact in Brodhead’s 26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 25-12 win over Big Foot on Oct. 10. The trio had 37 kills between the three of them.

Serving continued to be a strong suit for the Cardinals, as the team wracked up 18 aces. Gretchen Kammer, who led the team with 34 assists, and Karli Krumwiede tallied five aces each. Five different players had double-digit digs — Addie Leifker (12), Makenna Schooff (19), Dahl (21), Risum (19) and Kammerer (21). 


DARLINGTON 3, RIVERDALE 0

MUSCODA — The Redbirds held the Chieftains to a negative hitting percentage in their SWAL match on Oct. 10. With its own hitting percentage at .213, Darlington won 25-19, 25-13, 25-20.

Catie Hartwig had a strong serve, recording five aces with one error in 20 attempts for a .950 serving percentage. Offensively, Maddie Gratz and Lilly Ritchie paced the squad with eight kills each.  Allie Andrews had 20 of the team’s 25 assists and was one of four players with five digs, including Jaycie Schwartz, Raynie Norgard and Ritchie.


PECATONICA 3, ALBANY 0

BLANCHARDVILLE — The Vikings funneled their offense through Loretta Tisch in a 27-25, 25-14, 25-20 sweep of the Comets on Oct. 10. The junior hitter had 21 of her team’s 40 kills. The next highest hitter was Diana Hendrickson with seven kills. 

Tatum Kurschner distributed the offense with 28 assists. At the line, Aleah Harris and Hendrickson chipped in three aces each. Tisch also led Pecatonica with 15 digs. 

Anna Ellinger was the spark for the Comets with nine kills and 10 digs. Ellie Modaff led the team in both assists (13) and digs (12). 

In other local volleyball, Juda fell to Barneveld in three sets. The Eagles have been consistently receiving honorable mention recognition in the Division 5 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. After winning the first set 28-26, Monroe dropped the next three sets to Jefferson 25-19, 25-16, 25-11.
