Sugar River’s Carson Loshaw (190) earned his 100th career win in the Raiders’ dual loss to Prairie du Chien in a WIAA Divison 2 team sectional on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

RIVER VALLEY — Sugar River’s team season came to an end with a 54-19 loss to Prairie du Chien in a WIAA Division 2 sectional on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The Blackhawks, ranked No. 2 in Division 2, had seven ranked individuals. The unranked Raiders, who earned a spot in sectionals with a second-place finish at the Dodgeville regional, had five ranked individuals.

Prairie du Chien received 18 points from forfeit, while Sugar River got just six. PDC was able to limit Sugar River’s best to decisions victories — Carson’s Loshaw’s pin was the Raiders’ only 6-point victory aside from the forfeit. In fact, the pin was Loshaw’s 100th in his career.

Prairie du Chien went on to defeat GET 49-27 in the final, earning a spot in the WIAA Division 2 team state tournament March 1-2. The other Division 2 teams vying for the title are No.1 Luxembourg-Casco, No. 5 Kewaskum and No. 8 St. Croix Falls.
