Pecatonica keeps pace in Six Rivers East

SOUTH WAYNE — Pecatonica (6-1) remains tied with Barneveld (6-1) atop the Six Rivers East Conference with its 53-32 win over Black Hawk on Friday, Jan. 19. Argyle (5-1) did not play a conference game, and sits a half game back of the two.

Tyler McKeon paced Pecatonica with three 3-pointers. Elijah Knutson also drained three 3s for his nine-point total. The Vikings drew 17 fouls but were just 6-for-13 from the line.

Brycen Wilson led Black Hawk with nine points, all beyond the arc.

BARNEVELD 64, ALBANY 40

BARNEVELD — The second contest between the Eagles and Comets was much different than the first. In early December, Albany lost by just two points. On Friday, Jan. 19, the Eagles dominated in the paint for 34 rebounds and 28 points en route to victory.

Kaden Zurfluh was the leading scorer for Albany, tallying 14 points, while Nate Stokstad grabbed a team-best five rebounds. 

MONTICELLO 63, JUDA 35

JUDA — The Ponies limited the Panthers to just eight first-half points in a Six Rivers East Conference victory on Friday, Jan. 19. Juda’s defense deflected 22 passes and blocked 10 shots, but it could not make up for the 22 turnovers on offense. 

Ryer Indergand scored 21 points with 10 rebounds for a double-double. Peyton Smith added another 20 points and eight rebounds. Alex Roe also grabbed eight rebounds. 

Kadin Paske paced the Panthers with 12 points and chipped in four deflections. Braydon Steinmann finished in double figures with 10 points and also tallied four deflections. Micheal Hosch deflected eight passes. 

In other local boys basketball action, New Glarus edged out Belleville 60-55 on Thursday, Jan. 18. With the win, New Glarus (2-0) keeps pace with Cambridge (2-0) atop the Capitol South standings.
