WAUZEKA — The Vikings faced off against Shullsburg-Belmont, Cassville, Prairie du Chien and Wauzeka-Steuben in a meet Aug. 31.
In the girls race, Pecatonica-Argyle’s Paige Toay was 11th overall with a time of 32:07.6, followed by teammates Claire Mathys (32:53.0) and Norah McCarthy (35:27.5). Shullsburg-Belmont’s Anna Hardyman won the race (23:35.6).
On the boys side, Pec-Argyle’s Ridge Toay was second (19:58.6), finishing five seconds behind Garrett Ray (19:53.5) of Shullsburg-Belmont. Others scoring for Pec-Argyle include Kristian Orloff (4th, 21:25.9); Jakob Orloff (9th, 23:06.1); Brady Penniston (10th, 23:06.6); and Nathan Nickels (11th, 23:15.7). Abraham White (12th, 23:16.8) and Aidan Gruenenfelder (14th, 23:19.4) also ran strong races for the Vikings, who as a team defeated Wauzeka-Steuben for the team title, 25-33.
